Met Gala 2023: Affectionately dubbed “fashion’s biggest night,” the 2023 Met Gala is a fundraiser for the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. The event welcomes stars, young creators and industry representatives.
The 2023 Met Gala theme is “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty” to pay homage to Karl Lagerfeld, a regular attendee at the Metropolitan Institute of Art for Fashion. The event will take place on May 1, 2023, which is the first Monday in May.
In 2021 and 2022, the Costume Institute will host its first two-part American fashion exhibition. Part one, In America: A Fashion Lexicon, opened at the Anna Wintour Fashion Center on September 18, 2021, and In America: An Anthology of Fashion opened at the American Period Rooms Wing on May 5, 2022.
